An immersive STEAM experience

GL!TCH: Engineering an Escape Room is an innovative approach to teaching 21st Century Skills.  What most stands out is how effectively it engages students.  Your students will be immersed in the fictional world of Boom Town, where a small group of high-school students have realized that something strange is afoot in their computer science class.

Your students will innovate solutions to coding and engineering challenges as they work their way through a role playing game to help the Boom Town characters stop an evil organization from taking over the world.

Written by a team including a filmmaker and a former Disney Imagineer, this story/game/adventure captures students’ attention.  Rather than rolling their eyes, your students won’t want to leave class until they find out what has happened to their favorite Boom Town characters.

But GL!TCH isn’t just for fun. . .

Authentic 21st Century Skills

This NGSS aligned  curriculum is so robust that it can be offered as

  • A science or engineering class during the school day

  • A unit within another STEM course

  • An after school or summer enrichment program

No block code here, your students will learn to code in Python, the language that platforms like YouTube and Google Search were built on.  Your students will explore the fundamentals of electrical engineering, using real electrical components to wire all the same circuits that a 1st-semester electrical engineering student would learn.  Then they will use the code they are learning to automate those same circuits.

Your students will use resistors, capacitors, sensors, LEDs, servo motors, lasers, and more.
